ما أجمل العودة إلى عالم عم نجيب محفوظ!
حينما أقرأ أول سطور خطها قلمه،أتذكر منزل جدتي ووجه جدي وحكاياته المُسلية عن عالم لم يعد موجودًا اليوم.
أعود إلى طفولتي حينما كانت تتسع حدقتاي في دهشة وأنصت باهتمام لما يُقال عالمة أنه ينقش في ذاكرتي علامة لا تُزال.
وبغض النظر عن مستوى القصص هنا التي تراوحت ما بين الفلسفة والفانتازيا وبعض القصص العادية،أحببت المجموعة القصيرة هذه والتي أنهيتها في جلسة واحدة ضاربة بموعد نومي وبإرهاقي الذهني والجسدي عُرض الحائط.
ربما هي ليست أفضل أعمال محفوظ ولكنها جاءت بمثابة نزهة جميلة وسط دوامة تخبط.
أكثر ما أعجبني هي قصة العاصفة والتطلع إلى فجر جديد وسط انتشار الفوضى والسرقة ثم تليها قصة مطاردة والتي تؤكد لنا على الإصرار على الحق وعدم القبول بالتسويات الظالمة للمظلوم والمفيدة للظالم.
أكثر ما أعجبني،إرفاق مخطوطات عم نجيب المكتوبة بخط اليد..شعور ألفة ومحبة⁦ اجتاحني حين رأيتها ودفعني للرغبة في العودة للكتابة❤️⁩ ولو لنفسي فقط حتى :).

مش عارفة!
من الصعب تقييم كتاب لشاعر بتحبه وكنت مستني أي ديوان منه بعد غياب سنوات!
الديوان في أوله حلو أوي وماشي كويس وبعدين جه انتكس كدا من تلته الأخير!
آخر قصيدة ظبطت موودي شوية بعد ما كنت فقدت الأمل بس كتجربة أولى مجهود حلو.

Review: The Museum of Innocence

The Museum of Innocence by Orhan Pamuk

In the depth of the Turkish society, Orhan took us.

It's a love story.. well, not precisely.. It's a story about love..especially loving Istanbul.
Kemal bey the thirty-something year old man fell in love with an eighteen year old girl "Füsun" and was confused about giving up on everything he has that seems like a perfect life and go after his love or not.

However, this story is a background to Orhan's perfect narration of the aristocratic class of Istanbul after the calling off of the Ottoman empire and the rise of capitalism and secular appeals which are described as "westernization" of Turkey. So, basically Orhan is telling us historic facts and events in form of a novel.

Don't hang on the love story and enjoy the description of the society, because I did at the first few chapters and I complained it was going on slowly with the incidents of the love story but after that, I realized the beauty of the novel regardless of Kemal bey agony. Orhan is telling the smallest detail in everything and everyone in this novel, it can be irritating and also amusing.
It's important to notice that Kemal bey portrayed the Turk's confused mind and Füsun represented the modern Turkey that was captured into the traditional surrounding mindsets.

The obsessive hoarding in the novel lead to opening the Museum of Innocence in Turkey, and I visited myself last September, it's really beautiful and on each object they wrote down the phrase that was mentioned in the novel about it. Bring your copy if you are going to visit Istanbul because you will guaranteed a free entrance to the museum. And, I found out that there are museums around the world that is keen on representing the normal objects in the country houses in them as was mentioned in this novel.

Back to the novel, I liked the description of Time as he said it and so many other things that I quoted. The story is about Istanbul, love, friendship, family and how was the receiving of religion back then in Turkey.
I loved it and the ending was good.

I highly recommend it.

قصة قصيرة جدًا عن الظلم والقهر والحسرة..
الراوي أغضبني في البداية ولكن النهاية مرضية نوعـًا ما.
في كلمات قليلة لخص تشيخوف الرعب والقهر الذي يتعرض له الأقل حظـًا والفقير في هذه الحياة وعدم الرغبة في الاعتراض خوفـًا من العقوبة وربما ينعكس هذا على المجتمعات التي تخاف من محاربة الطغيان الرابض على أنفاسهم ويشكرونهم على أقل القليل ليتجنبوا بطشهم.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson

An honest book with a very laid back writing and a sharp speech.
What captured my attention at first was the titles of each chapters, then I discovered the subjects and was amazed.
I think this book is good and very distinctive from other self-help books, surely it has quite stories in it but the main idea is clear most of the time.
I liked the roughness of it though it was not correct sometimes, sometimes was irrelevant and other times I simply disagreed with him.
As a quick wrap-up:
Don't think you are special, you are not entitled, actions will bring on motivation not vice versa, being sad or angry is a good thing but don't turn into a drama queen, your actions are your responsibilities, give f*ck about what matters only and finally we all are going to die and we have to accept that.

What I Know for Sure by Oprah Winfrey

I adore Oprah!
This autobiography talks about what Oprah knows for sure in her life and we should know it, too!
It's like a guide book to keep on going and fighting in this life.
I highlighted many quotes in there, also knew new people, songs, events and books.
Yes, Oprah talks in this book about herself, her adventure in life and her struggles especially with overweight, sexual abuse and racism, However, you can conclude many things from what she'd suffered.
It was my first time listening to Snatam Kaur, even though I am not a very spiritual person and I liked it so much. Would make an excellent background while reading this book :)
Absolutely amazing and entertaining.
I wish it didn't have to end. ❤️
