Review: Notes on a Nervous Planet

Notes on a Nervous Planet Notes on a Nervous Planet by Matt Haig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's a great book!
It's not like ordinary self-help books, it actually helps you understand what this era is causing us to feel like. The overload of everything, news, music, films and books.
This book focuses mainly on the social media effects on us. It helped me to cool down and regulate my social media conflicts. I am also trying to accomplish more of what he said.
Although I am sure not all anxieties are triggered by mobile phones, I just hoped he would elaborate more on that. However, this book was really helpful and I liked it a lot.
It's a must read and I highly recommend it.

Review: Alex, Approximately

Alex, Approximately Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5\5 stars because she didn't focus a lot on Grace's relationship.

---
Bailey "Mink" Rydell is a movie freak, she loves watching old movies and has an electronic relationship with a guy called "Alex".
She moved across the country to live with her dad and met that guy "Porter" -weird name- and they hated each other at first. But things happen and now Bailey has to choose between Alex or Porter!

It was a cute fluffy read with lots of laughs and drama. I absolutely loved the story and the couple. I loved Bailey's relation with her dad. I adored Grace <3 .
The writing is good and I loved it so much.

I recommend it

Review: Secrets

Secrets Secrets by Lesley Pearse
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Honour is my favourite fictional granny!
A bit predictable but enjoyable.

The twelve years old Adele is sent to a caring house after her witnessing the death of her eight years old sister in a car accident, her mother lost control and tried to kill Adele and her father. Her father abandoned them then and Adele went to Mr. Makepeace's house.
Mr.Makepeace tried to rape her, so Adele ran away to her grandmother and lived there. She met that incredible boy Michael Bailey and became friends with him until they fall in love with each other. Her mother returned and the WWII began and things started to change drastically.

I really enjoyed this story and the audiobook and I continued to reading it because it was such an easy read.
I could predict some stuff but others were shocking. Adele was sometimes a little bit annoying.

This novel discuss child rape in foster houses and post-partum depression and the drawbacks of war on people, social classes and economy, so it's a heavy story although being romantic.
I loved it and definitely recommend it.
